About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and analytical Trade Marketing Manager to drive in-market execution, channel activation, and shopper engagement initiatives. The role will be responsible for translating brand and business objectives into effective trade marketing programs that enhance visibility, drive sales, and strengthen channel partnerships.

The ideal candidate should have experience in FMCG, consumer products, retail, e-commerce, or related sectors, with a strong understanding of channel marketing, promotions, and market execution.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Marketing & Channel Activation

  • Develop and execute trade marketing plans aligned with brand and sales objectives.
  • Design and implement channel-specific promotions, campaigns, and activation programs.
  • Drive visibility initiatives across modern trade, general trade, and exclusive outlet channels.
  • Ensure effective execution of in-store branding, POSM deployment, and merchandising activities.

Sales Enablement

  • Partner with sales teams to improve market penetration and drive category growth.
  • Support product launches with channel-specific activation plans.
  • Develop sales toolkits, promotional materials, and communication assets for field teams.

Shopper Insights & Category Management

  • Analyse shopper behaviour, category trends, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for channel/customer segmentation and assortment optimisation.
  • Lead planogram development in collaboration with key retail partners.

Promotions & Activation

  • Design, deploy, and evaluate trade promotions (price, in-store activations, display drives, loyalty schemes) in line with brand guidelines and ROI thresholds
  • Own the development of Point-of-Purchase (POP) and Point-of-Sale (POS) materials from briefing through execution
  • Manage sell-in and activation calendars to ensure on-time, in-full deployment at retail.

Brand & Sales Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Brand Marketing and Sales teams, ensuring seamless communication and aligned execution
  • Develop compelling trade sell-in stories, customer presentations, and commercial toolkits for the field force
  • Support new product launches with tailored trade activation plans, including trade communication, display norms, and launch KPIs

Performance Management

  • Track, measure, and report on trade spend effectiveness, including ROI analysis on promotions and activations.
  • Build dashboards and performance trackers to monitor distribution, off-take, and share of shelf metrics.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly business reviews with actionable insights and course-correction recommendations.
  • Manage budgets and ensure efficient utilization of trade marketing investments.

Qualifications

  • MBA from a reputed institute (Marketing preferred).
  • 2–4 years of post-MBA experience in Trade Marketing, Brand Management, Category Management, or Key Account Management, preferably in an FMCG, consumer durables, or retail-facing organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing trade promotions and channel activations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of trade channels — modern trade, general trade.
  • Understanding of trade marketing principles and channel dynamics.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Data-driven decision-making and commercial acumen.
  • High ownership and execution orientation.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to build and present commercial narratives
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
