Job Summary
The Trade Compliance Professional is responsible for ensuring compliance with Indian
Customs laws and allied trade regulations, including MOOWR Regulations, SEZ
Regulations, DGFT requirements, and the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP). The role focuses
on global trade compliance governance, regulatory interpretation, documentation
control, coordination with internal stakeholders, and support for audits and regulatory
engagements to ensure compliant and efficient import, export, and bonded operations
at the site level.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure daytoday compliance with Indian Customs Act, Customs Tariff, DGFT
regulations, and Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), in alignment with global trade
compliance standards.
Review compliancerelated statutory records for import, export, SEZ, and bonded
operations, ensuring documentation integrity and regulatory adherence.
Support customs valuation, duty structure review, exemption notifications, and
applicable duty benefit schemes.
Monitor and support implementation of regulatory updates, notifications, and
circulars impacting trade compliance operations, coordinating with global trade
compliance teams as needed.
Support compliance under MOOWR Regulations including accountal of bonded
goods, duty deferment tracking, and maintenance of prescribed records.
Ensure adherence to MOOWR license conditions, warehouse permissions, and
SEZ operational approvals.
Support compliance with SEZ Rules and Regulations including statutory
documentation, accountal, and record maintenance as required under SEZ
regulations.
Perform and support HSN classification of imported and exported goods and
maintain classification documentation.
Conduct Denied Party Screening (DPS) for customers, suppliers, service
providers, and other third parties and ensure screening records are maintained in
line with corporate global compliance procedures.
Support internal, statutory, and regulatory audits related to Customs, SEZ, and
MOOWR compliance, including preparation of documentation, reconciliations,
and responses.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including procurement, finance, and
operations to ensure compliance alignment and promote global trade
compliance best practices.
Provide regulatory compliance guidance to Customs Brokers (CHA) and
consultants, and support regulatory interactions as required for compliance
matters.
Skills & Competencies
Working knowledge of MOOWR Regulations, SEZ Rules & Regulations, and Indian
Customs laws
Understanding of DGFT regulations and Foreign Trade Policy
Knowledge of HSN classification and Denied Party Screening processes
Strong documentation, analytical, and compliance orientation
Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and exposure to ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred)
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Law, Engineering, or a
related discipline with 3–6 years of relevant experience in trade compliance, customs operations, SEZ, or bonded warehouse environments.
