TP Requirement - ERS Mech || Tooling Jigs & Fixtures

The Equipment & Tool Engineer will be responsible for designing, modifying, and maintaining production tooling and equipment to support the Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) business. This role works closely with Production Engineering teams, cross-functional teams, and external partners to implement innovative tooling solutions while ensuring compliance with engineering, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and modify assembly jigs, drill jigs, location jigs, scaffolding, work platforms, and portable mechanical equipment.
• Perform conceptual tool designs and maintain engineering configuration through design changes.
• Develop, review, and check detailed tool fabrication drawings, weldments, sub-assemblies, and assembly drawings.
• Conduct tool design reviews with cross-functional teams and participate in tool/equipment try-outs to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams globally to support engineering excellence, customer engagement, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomics, and regulatory standards.
• Utilize CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, Unigraphics-NX) to create and manipulate complex design datasets.
• Provide engineering expertise in tooling manufacturing processes and operational analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Tooling, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 812 years of experience in production tooling design, modification, and manufacturing support.
• Strong knowledge of assembly processes, tooling equipment, and conceptual tool design.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating advanced engineering drawings and specifications (GD&T).
• Expertise in CAD systems such as CATIA or Unigraphics-NX.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple products, locations, and cultures.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with aerospace, military, and government standards.
• Knowledge of tool production processes, operational analysis, and design for manufacturability.
• Experience with production tool strings, assembly instructions, and tool lifecycle management.
• Strong communication skills for reports, proposals, and technical documentation.
• Exposure to engineering process improvement methodologies and manufacturing methods.
