Tool Room Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tool Room Engineer to join our plastic manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, development, and modification of molds and tooling used in the plastic injection molding process. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, precision, and a deep understanding of tool room machinery and injection mold design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection molds.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble molds with precision.
• Conduct root cause analysis for mold-related defects and implement corrective actions.
• Use measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Carry out welding, polishing, and surface finishing of mold components when required.
• Operate and maintain tool room machinery including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders.
• Coordinate with the production and quality teams to minimize machine downtime.
• Maintain detailed records of mold history, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and ISO quality procedures.
