Job Responsibilities
Source and procure SPMs, fixtures, tooling, jigs, gauges, and automation systems for automotive manufacturing.
Evaluate supplier technical capability for design, machining, assembly, and commissioning of equipment.
Conduct technical audits of suppliers for manufacturing processes (CNC machining, welding, fabrication, assembly etc).
Prepare cost breakdown analysis using zero-based costing for SPMs and tooling.
Collaborate with Projects, Engineering, and Maintenance teams for technical feasibility and installation planning.
Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, PPAP documentation, and internal procurement SOPs.
Manage purchase orders and agreements through SAP MM module. (will be an added advantage)
Exposure Required
Strong understanding of SPM design principles (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems).
Fixture design for assembly and inspection requirement.
Tooling standards for automotive components.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings (GD&T).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes: (CNC machining, die casting, sheet metal fabrication, welding etc) will be an added advantage
Familiarity with automation technologies (robotics, PLC integration).
Awareness of raw material trends (steel grades, aluminum alloys) and forex impact on imports.
Proficiency in SAP MM, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and costing tools.
Educational Qualification
B.E Mechanical Engineering
Minimum Years Of Exp
6 - 8 Years in Vendor Development in Automotive industry
