Job Responsibilities

The Magna HR systems team is a fast-growing team meant to support day to day activities of Payroll and HR practitioners within our Canadian and US operations. This role is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for the Dayforce Time and Payroll modules.

Who We Are Looking For

  • We are seeking a motivated Support Specialist to join our HRIS support team with a focus on configuration and support with Payroll and Time & Attendance in Dayforce, complemented by foundational knowledge of payroll processes and employee life cycles

In this role you will provide

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including the point of time capture to earning statement
  • Ability to configure and maintain Dayforce WFM modules, including Pay Policies, Entitlements & Accruals, and complex Time Entry and Schedule rules
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert, providing support and knowledge transfer to external stakeholders, and other related technical teams, as well as raising issues with vendor
  • Audit and update system configurations and security access to ensure adherence to system and organization controls
  • Knowledge on efficient utilization of reporting & analytics, relationships between data tables and data compilation, building custom reports, understanding of SQL considered an asset
  • Remain current on system release versions and features, complete regression testing, and the implementation of system upgrades for future enhancements

Your Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, IT, or related field
  • Experience: 3-5 years in an HR, payroll, or systems support role; Dayforce experience preferred
  • Knowledge:
    • Payroll and payroll systems experience with strong knowledge of HR, time, and employee data operations.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and system configuration skills.
    • Experience with Dayforce and respective modules considered is an asset
  • Technical Skills:
    • HRIS System knowledge
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications, mainly Excel
    • Ability and eagerness to learn system configurations
    • Dayforce implementation experience would be an asset
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Effective and professional communication and customer service abilities
    • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to learning and issue resolution
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well self-manage individual tasks
