We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Thermal Validation Engineer. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in thermal characterization, power testing, and system-level validation. This role requires excellent reasoning ability, analytical thinking, and aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thermal validation, characterization, and profiling on mobile/embedded platforms.
- Conduct power measurement, efficiency analysis, and thermalpower correlation studies.
- Develop and execute test plans, analyze logs, and generate detailed reports.
- Collaborate with system, design, firmware, and hardware teams for thermal optimization.
- Investigate thermal anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend fixes.
- Support test infrastructure development, automation scripts, and methodology improvements.
- Ensure compliance with power/thermal specifications and customer requirements.
- Document thermal results and present findings to engineering and management teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 24 years of experience in thermal validation, power testing, or system-level performance testing.
- Hands-on experience with IR cameras, thermocouples, thermal chambers, and power analyzers.
- Knowledge of Android/embedded systems and SoC architecture.
- Familiarity with thermal simulation and material thermal properties.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with scripting (Python/Perl/Shell) for automation and data analysis.
- Understanding of CPU/GPU throttling, power profiling, and performance-per-watt metrics.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Qualcomm chipsets, thermal/power tools, or mobile platform validation.
- Knowledge of thermal modeling tools like ANSYS Icepak or FloTHERM.
- Exposure to thermal cycling, reliability tests (HALT/HASS), and stress validation.
- Experience in PPAT or platform-level validation.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
