Role Summary

The QC Lead – Fielding Operations is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all field survey (fielding) data before submission to the customer. This role ensures that data collected from the field translates into clean, usable inputs for downstream design, minimizing rework and customer escalations.

The QC Lead will also manage a team of 8–10 QC associates and act as the primary interface between internal teams and the customer for all quality-related matters.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Fielding Data Quality Control

Review field survey outputs for accuracy and completeness, including:

Pole data (location, attachments, height, condition)

Address validation and mapping accuracy

Anchor/guying details

Route continuity and logical flow

Ensure all collected data meets customer standards and is design-ready

Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and missing data before submission

2. Customer Communication

Act as the single point of contact for QC-related communication with the customer

Understand and interpret customer requirements and quality expectations

Share QC reports, highlight risks, and ensure timely closure of feedback

Handle escalations related to data quality and resolve proactively

3. Team Management

Lead and manage a team of 8–10 QC associates

Assign daily QC workload and track productivity

Conduct regular quality reviews and feedback sessions

Train team members on QC standards, checklists, and tools

4. Tools & Validation

Review and validate field data using:

QGIS

IQGeo

Ensure proper mapping, layering, and geo-referencing of field data

Support team in correcting errors and improving data quality

5. Process Development & Improvement

Establish and enforce QC SOPs for fielding operations

Develop standardized QC checklists for different job types (F1, F2, etc.)

Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues

Work closely with field teams to reduce repeat errors and improve data capture

6. Reporting & Metrics

Track key quality metrics:

First-time-right submissions

Rework / rejection rates

QC turnaround time

Share structured weekly/monthly quality reports with management

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in fiber fielding / survey operations

Hands-on experience with QGIS and/or IQGeo

Good understanding of pole data, address validation, and OSP basics

Strong communication skills (client-facing role)

Experience managing teams (8–10 members preferred)

High attention to detail and ownership mindset
