Role Overview
The Art Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality visual arts education to students (including Grades XI–XII), while also leading and strengthening the Art Department. The role requires a blend of strong pedagogical expertise, creative excellence, and leadership capability to mentor team members and drive innovative art practices within the school.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Planning & Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with CBSE / senior secondary curriculum requirements
- Teach students across middle and senior school, including Grades XI–XII (Fine Arts / Applied Arts)
- Integrate various art forms such as drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media
- Prepare students for board examinations, portfolios, and competitive platforms
2. Student Development & Engagement
- Foster creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression among students
- Identify and nurture talented students for exhibitions, competitions, and scholarships
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain student portfolios
3. Department Leadership
- Lead and manage the Art Department, including mentoring junior teachers
- Plan department goals, yearly calendars, and interdisciplinary art projects
- Ensure consistency in teaching quality and assessment practices
- Coordinate internal and external art exhibitions, displays, and showcases
4. Assessment & Documentation
- Design assessment rubrics for practical and theory components
- Maintain records of student progress, portfolios, and evaluations
- Support board exam processes (practicals, submissions, moderation, etc.)
5. Innovation & School Culture Contribution
- Introduce innovative art practices, workshops, and collaborations
- Contribute to school events, décor, stage design, and creative productions
- Promote art integration across subjects and school initiatives
6. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with school leadership, coordinators, and other departments
- Engage with parents regarding student progress and development
- Represent the school in external forums, competitions, and art networks

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Fine Arts (BFA / MFA or equivalent)
- B.Ed. (preferred as per school norms)
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience in reputed schools
- Experience teaching Grades IX–XII (Board classes) is essential
- Prior experience in leading or coordinating an Art Department (even small team exposure preferred)
