Summary We're hiring a Senior Textile Designer to bring refined creativity and deep craft expertise to our team. This role involves conceptualizing, creating, and overseeing the end-to-end development of luxury textile collections rooted in Indian handloom traditions, with a strong focus on Banarasi and Kanjivaram weaving.
Key Responsibilities:
● Research fashion trends, craft techniques, materials, and weaving traditions
● Conceptualize and create design ranges through hand drawing and detailed development
● Lead and develop collections with strong focus on Banarasi and Kanjivaram weaving
● Select appropriate yarns, fabrics, colours, and trims aligned with brand aesthetics
● Oversee sampling, weaving, and production processes in coordination with artisans and vendors ● Analyze market feedback and customer insights to guide design decisions
● Stay updated on luxury textile, craft, and handloom trends
● Handle the end-to-end design process from concept to final execution
● Collaborate closely with internal teams and external craftsmen
Requirements:
● Postgraduate Degree in Textile Design (NID – PG preferred)
● Experience in luxury textile or handloom-focused brands
● Mandatory experience in Banarasi weaving and Kanjivaram weaving
● Strong expertise in craft development and hand drawing
● Strong design portfolio showcasing handloom and weaving expertise
● Proficiency in design software along with manual design processes
● Excellent sense of colour, texture, and material handling
● Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities
● High attention to detail and passion for Indian textiles and crafts
● Adaptability to evolving trends while preserving traditional aesthetics
● Open to collaborations
