As an SDET-2, you will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, DevOps teams, and architects to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality software products while embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, backend, and integration testing.
- Build and execute automated test suites to validate functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
- Develop reusable automation utilities, libraries, and testing components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex issues across applications and environments.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide inputs from a quality engineering perspective.
- Improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and release confidence.
- Design and implement performance, regression, smoke, and integration testing strategies.
- Monitor quality metrics and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Work closely with developers to ensure early defect detection and prevention.
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and test design techniques.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Experience with version control systems including Git.
- Familiarity with SQL and database validation techniques.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or K6.
- Experience with test reporting and observability platforms.
- Knowledge of security testing concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 25 years of experience in software testing and automation engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing automation frameworks and improving engineering quality practices.
