The opportunity

Defining and specifying activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for a manufactured material, component, or product. Building and maintaining the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products. Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards. Reporting and troubleshooting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods A Senior Para-Professional (S35) requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and require vocational or technical education. Responsibilities may include: Most of problems are not routine and require analysis to understand. Works under very limited supervision. Provides assistance, training and may also delegate and review the work of lower employees.

How you'll make an impact

  • Routine Testing and type testing of Bushings - internal and external accreditation laboratories, handling customers for inspections and verification wrt testing.

  • Mapping of customer satisfaction, customer feedback and improvement based on inspections.

  • Calibration of testing instruments and equipment in line with relevant standards and customer requirements. Establish and develop NABL certification for internal laboratories.

  • Collaborates with manufacturing teams to address customer-specific quality requirements. Assist in analyzing customer feedbacks and identifying areas for improvement. Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving product quality through manufacturing/assembly process improvements.

  • Participates in development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to mitigate process risks. Conducts process audits and inspections to verify compliance with process risk mitigation measures.

  • Conducts comprehensive risk assessments for manufacturing/assembly processes to identify potential risks by performing activities like failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA).

  • Implements quality control measures and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards. Conducts inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, to verify compliance with quality requirements.

  • Conducts root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify and resolve quality issues in testing and manufacturing processes. Utilize techniques such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and statistical analysis to determine the underlying causes of quality problems.

  • Coordination of Quality management systems (QMS) for entire testing department of Bushing factory. Preparing the SOP's, Departmental manuals, Quality Plan, Data Sheets, Work Instructions, Management procedures, MRM, Documentation etc.

  • Regulatory Requirements Knowledge (e.g. IS, IEC and IEEE standards)

  • Maintain Routine testing data records for each bushing by complying relevant standards, SOPs and customer requirements as applicable.

  • Involvement in failure investigation, analyze and improve the rejection rate.

  • Knowledge of HSE Operating System Std. and Electrical Safety Standards

  • Product and Process Control Plans

  • Measurement System Analysis

  • Process Design and Optimization (Capability Analysis, SPC, CtQ, Poke Yoke, SOP etc.)

  • Specific Failure Analysis Techniques (e.g. Partial Discharge, SEM etc.)

  • Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)

  • Technical Drawing Interpretation

  • Train new joiners to enhance their skills.

  • Benchmark testing processes according to global guidelines.

  • Manage testing activities by collaborating with PM and Production teams.

  • Involvement in Type testing activities as applicable.

  • Maintain critical spares inventory related to test equipment and relevant history cards.

  • Ensure timely preventive maintenance to achieve test equipment availability above 95%.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering / Diploma in Engineering. Preferred Electrical Engineering.

  • Min. 3 to 8 years of overall experience in similar positions.

  • Relevant experience in Testing or service process for bushing or any transformers.

  • Experience in Bushings or transformers will be an added advantage

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
