Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Windchill Test Engineer to validate and ensure the quality of PTC Windchill PLM implementations, enhancements, integrations, and upgrades. The ideal candidate will be responsible for functional, integration, regression, and system testing of Windchill applications, ensuring business processes and product data management functions operate reliably and meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Testing
- Analyze business and functional requirements for Windchill solutions.
- Design, develop, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Validate Windchill functionalities including:
- Part Management
- Document Management
- Change Management (ECR/ECO/ECN)
- Workflow Management
- Lifecycle Management
- Configuration Management
- Classification and Attributes
- BOM Management
Integration Testing
- Validate integrations between Windchill and:
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- CAD applications (Creo, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks)
- MES and Manufacturing systems
- Other enterprise applications
- Verify data synchronization and interface functionality.
System & Regression Testing
- Execute end-to-end business process testing.
- Perform regression testing during releases, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Validate system stability after configuration and customization changes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Defect Management
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and architects to resolve issues.
- Verify fixes and perform retesting.
Test Automation (Preferred)
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
- Support automation frameworks for repetitive PLM testing scenarios.
- Participate in continuous testing initiatives.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare test plans, test strategies, and test summary reports.
- Maintain traceability between requirements and test cases.
- Provide regular status updates on testing progress and quality metrics.
