The Opportunity

The Battery Cell Test Operations Manager will oversee the planning, commissioning, and operational management of a battery cell testing facility. This role ensures high-quality testing procedures, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and continuous improvements in testing methodologies. The successful candidate will have expertise in battery technologies, test systems, and facility operations, ensuring seamless execution from design to full operational capacity.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Manage daily operations of the battery cell testing facility, ensuring efficient and accurate test execution.
  • Supervise test engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and safety regulations.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance test accuracy, speed, and data reliability.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards, environmental regulations, and industry certifications.

Testing & Data Management:

  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of test equipment to guarantee data integrity.
  • Analyze test results and generate reports, providing insights to R&D teams for product optimization.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Innovation:

  • Align with UK Test teams to ensure a global approach to testing activites
  • Stay updated on advancements in battery testing technologies, implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Develop training programs for team members to enhance skills in battery testing methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in battery cell testing, validation, and facility operations.
  • Knowledge of battery technologies, electrochemical testing, thermal management, and safety standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing technical teams.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Desired

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, environmental compliance, and regulatory frameworks related to battery testing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, test automation, and reporting methodologies
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
