Job Summary
The Windchill Tester Lead is responsible for leading end‑to‑end testing activities for PTC Windchill PLM implementations and enhancements. The role involves test strategy definition, test planning, team leadership, defect management, and coordination with business, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure high‑quality Windchill solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Test Leadership & Planning
- Define and own the test strategy, test approach, and test governance for Windchill projects.
- Prepare test plans, test estimates, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Lead SIT, UAT, Regression, and Release testing activities for Windchill applications.
- Ensure adherence to quality processes, standards, and best practices.
Windchill Functional & Technical Testing
- Lead testing for Windchill modules such as:
- PDMLink
- MPMLink
- ProjectLink
- Change Management (ECR, ECO, ECN)
- BOM Management
- Document & Part Management
- Validate integrations with:
- ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- CAD tools (Creo, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks)
- Downstream/Upstream enterprise systems
- Review and validate business workflows, lifecycle states, access control, and configurations.
Test Execution & Defect Management
- Oversee creation and execution of test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Ensure timely execution of test cycles and accurate reporting of test results.
- Manage defect lifecycle using tools like JIRA, ALM, or Azure DevOps.
- Conduct root cause analysis and work closely with developers to resolve defects.
Automation & Performance (If applicable)
- Drive test automation initiatives using tools such as Selenium, UFT, or custom frameworks.
- Guide performance and load testing for Windchill environments.
- Ensure test coverage for upgrades, patches, and version migrations.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Act as the primary testing SPOC for project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business users, product owners, developers, and release managers.
- Mentor and guide test team members, conduct reviews, and provide feedback.
- Support UAT users and sign‑off processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience in PTC Windchill testing
- Good understanding of PLM concepts, product structures, BOMs, and engineering change processes
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
- Knowledge of SQL, logs analysis, and basic Unix/Linux commands (preferred)
- Familiarity with Agile / SAFe / Waterfall methodologies

Education
