Test Lead/Architect - L2/L3 Network Protocols & Automation
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Test Lead/Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading and executing comprehensive testing strategies for our cutting-edge networking products, with a keen focus on L2/L3 protocols. You'll leverage your deep understanding of networking technologies and your strong Python scripting skills to develop and implement robust automation frameworks. You'll also collaborate closely with development, marketing, and other test teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Test methodology and plan design are essential for L2/L3 network protocols, ensuring a comprehensive approach.
- Product requirement analysis skills will be used to identify testable areas and develop effective test strategies.
- Test effort estimation, including resources and timelines, is a key responsibility.
- Test execution leadership will be provided for functional, performance, and stability tests specific to L2/L3 protocols.
- Automated test script and framework development and maintenance using Python and industry-standard tools (e.g., Robot Framework) are crucial.
- Network traffic simulation and protocol validation will be performed using test tools like IXIA and/or Spirent.
- Test result analysis, defect identification, and detailed reporting to the development team are vital.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and other L2/L3 protocols are required.
- Complex network issue troubleshooting and providing technical guidance to the team are key.
- Collaboration skills are essential to work with development, marketing, and other test teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment.
- Effective communication with stakeholders will be maintained to provide regular updates on test progress and issues.
- Mentorship and guidance for junior test engineers will be provided.
- Technical leadership in network protocol testing and automation is expected.
- Staying updated with the latest networking technologies and testing methodologies is crucial for continuous improvement.
Technical Skill Requirements
- Proven expertise in creating test methodologies, writing, and executing test plans is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of L2/L3 network protocols, including Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP, is essential.
- Excellent coding skills in Python for test automation are required.
- Experience with industry-standard automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework) is a must.
- Experience with network test tools such as IXIA and/or Spirent is necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
General Requirements
- Employment Type: This is a Permanent, full-time position.
- This role focuses specifically on L2/L3 network protocol testing and excludes regression testing, telecom (4G/5G), and storage profile testing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with MPLS and EVPN is a plus.
