Job Title: Test Engineer – Powertrain (HIL Testing)

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing for Conventional, Hybrid, and Electric Vehicle Powertrains. You will be responsible for test infrastructure readiness, test execution, debugging, and validation to ensure system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure HIL infrastructure readiness and conduct simulations & tests.
  • Develop test specifications and test cases based on given requirements.
  • Execute tests as per the test plan and analyze results.
  • Debug failures related to plant models, automation scripts, function algorithms, and calibration.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve HIL testing issues effectively.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess system performance and detect potential issues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Validate models against real-world data for accuracy and fidelity.
  • Generate comprehensive test reports and provide recommendations.
  • Stay updated with the latest HIL technology and Powertrain advancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior engineers and project managers.

Technical Skills:

  • HIL Testing & Simulation Tools: MATLAB, Simulink, HiL, Provetech, dSPACE Toolchain (Automation Desk, Configuration Desk, Control Desk), INCA, ECU Test Tool, Jira, Confluence, DNG, XRAY, Starc.
  • Automation Scripting: Python, CAPL, VB.
  • Testing Infrastructure: HIL systems & environment tools.
  • Understanding of Communication Protocols: LIN, CAN, Ethernet.
  • Knowledge of Standards & Safety: OBD Standards, Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
  • Experience with Hardware Components: Controller hardware pin-out diagrams, wiring harnesses.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify patterns & anomalies in test results.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for reporting and collaboration.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • A collaborative team player with a willingness to take on varied tasks.
