Job Title: Test Engineer - Capital Markets

Location: Hybrid
Experience: 4 to 6 Years
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA/Test Engineer with 4-6 years of experience to join our team and ensure the quality of our capital markets software. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in software quality assurance and has demonstrable experience working with the trading cycle within the Capital Markets domain. You will be responsible for validating complex financial workflows from pre-trade through to settlement and ensuring the robustness of our trading applications.

Key Responsibilities

Trading Cycle Validation: Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to understand and test various stages of the trading cycle, including order management, execution, confirmation, settlement, and regulatory reporting for products like Fixed Income, Equities, and Derivatives.
Test Strategy & Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for front-office (trading), middle-office (risk), and back-office (settlements) applications.
Automation Development: Build and maintain robust automated test scripts using Selenium with Java or Python to validate complex, multi-step financial workflows across the entire trade lifecycle.
Data & Backend Validation: Perform rigorous backend testing by writing complex SQL queries to validate the integrity and accuracy of trade data across relational databases.
API & Integration Testing: Conduct thorough API testing (RESTful/SOAP) using tools like Postman to ensure seamless integration between internal trading systems, market data feeds, and third-party clearing platforms.
Defect Management: Identify, log, and track defects to resolution, performing root cause analysis for issues found during UAT or production to prevent recurrence in the trading cycle.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a mandatory and strong focus on the Capital Markets or Financial Services domain.
Capital Markets Knowledge: Deep understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle (pre-trade to post-trade) . You must be comfortable testing scenarios related to trade capture, confirmation, margin calculations, and settlements.
Automation Skills: Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit) and proficiency in Java or Python.
Database Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL for backend data validation, specifically for verifying trade details and positions.
Testing Tools: Experience with API testing tools (Postman), version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
Methodology: Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in collaborative team environments.
