Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for Test Engineers with strong experience in embedded and optical networking products. The role involves test planning, test design, automation, laboratory validation, defect management, and quality assurance across three Agile Scrum teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop overall test plans and validation strategies.
  • Analyze requirements and create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
  • Design and execute functional, system, integration, regression, and performance tests.
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts.
  • Develop Python/pytest-based automation wherever applicable.
  • Perform end-to-end validation of embedded optical networking products.
  • Troubleshoot failures and perform defect/root-cause analysis.
  • Log, track, prioritize, and manage defects through closure.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and product teams.
  • Support continuous integration and automated regression testing.
  • Maintain test documentation, reports, and quality metrics.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and support timely product releases.
  • Use AI-assisted tools for test-case generation, automation development, debugging, log analysis, and test planning.

Required Test / Domain Expertise

  • Strong experience testing Coherent Optics and optical networking products.
  • Transponder testing experience.
  • OTN / G.709 validation.
  • Ethernet testing – 100G / 400G / 800G.
  • CMIS validation.
  • Carrier-grade embedded systems testing.
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile environments.

Optical Test Equipment

Hands-on Experience With One Or More Of The Following

  • Traffic Testers
  • OSA / Optical Spectrum Analyzer
  • Optical Analyzer
  • Optical Power Meter
  • VOA – Variable Optical Attenuator
  • Optical Switch
  • BER Testers

Automation / Tools

  • Strong Python programming.
  • pytest automation preferred.
  • Test automation framework development.
  • Git.
  • CI/CD.
  • JIRA / defect tracking tools.
  • Test management tools.
  • Log analysis and debugging.

AI-Assisted Testing

  • Experience using GenAI tools for test automation development.
  • AI-assisted test-case generation and test planning.
  • AI-supported debugging, log analysis, and defect investigation.

  • Experience with Git-based development workflows.

  • Willingness to adopt AI-assisted engineering tools and modern SDLC practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
