Optimal Blue is the premier provider of integrated technology, data, and analytics solutions for the mortgage industry. We are seeking a Test Automation Architect to lead enterprise-level automation strategy across UI, API, service-layer, and data validation workflows. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with architectural leadership and cross-team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, evolve, and govern scalable automation frameworks (UI, API, service, data)
- Define automation standards, reusable components, and quality gates
- Establish and execute automation strategy aligned with CI/CD pipelines
- Lead migration from legacy automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium to Playwright)
- Build and maintain robust automated test suites for UI and APIs
- Troubleshoot automation flakiness, pipeline issues, and environment instability
- Collaborate with QA, Engineering, and DevOps to improve software testability
- Mentor QA Analysts and Automation Engineers across multiple teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of experience in Software QA
- 5+ years in Automation Architecture or framework development
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#
- API automation experience (Postman, Bruno, REST frameworks)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
- Solid foundation in test design and quality engineering best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-assisted testing or GitHub Copilot
- Exposure to cloud-based and distributed systems
- Experience with data validation and multi-service automation
- Background in mentoring and leading automation initiatives
