Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Territory Sales Manager role based in Korba. The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets for general insurance products across the assigned territory through direct channels, intermediaries, and affinity partners. The role involves developing and managing relationships with distributors, agents, corporate clients, and key accounts, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include driving new business acquisition, cross-sell and upsell initiatives, monitoring sales performance, and implementing local sales strategies aligned with company objectives. The Territory Sales Manager will also be expected to conduct regular market visits, identify new business opportunities, ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies, and coordinate with internal teams such as underwriting, operations, and claims. The role includes mentoring and training channel partners and team members to enhance product knowledge, sales capabilities, and adherence to service standards.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and sales management skills, with experience in meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities to build trust, manage stakeholder expectations, and handle escalations effectively.
- Experience in training and coaching channel partners or team members on products, processes, and sales techniques.
- Prior experience in general insurance, financial services, or related industries is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in insurance are an advantage.
- Proven ability to work independently in the field, analyze territory performance, and implement data-driven action plans.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on ethical and compliant selling practices.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the Bilaspur territory and nearby regions as required.
