Territory Manager

Department: Sales & Business Development

Reporting To: Zonal Head / Regional Sales Manager

Job Summary

The Territory Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, developing customer relationships, and achieving business targets within the assigned territory. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.

Generate leads, conduct client meetings, and convert prospects into customers.

Develop and execute territory sales plans to maximize revenue growth.

Monitor market trends and competitor activities.

Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.

Ensure timely follow-up on inquiries, quotations, and business proposals.

Address customer concerns and provide appropriate solutions.

Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Territory Management

Plan and execute sales visits across the assigned territory.

Ensure effective coverage of key markets and customer segments.

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.

Prepare regular sales forecasts and territory performance reports.

Channel Partner Development

Identify, appoint, and manage channel partners, distributors, and business associates.

Support partners with product knowledge and business development activities.

Monitor partner performance and drive revenue generation.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with marketing, operations, and technical teams to support business objectives.

Submit daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports.

Track sales performance and implement corrective actions when required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

MBA (Marketing/Sales) preferred.

Experience

3–8 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Territory Management.

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business growth.

Skills Required

Strong sales and negotiation skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Relationship management and customer handling.

Market analysis and strategic planning.

Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.

Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
