Job Description – Teradata DBA / Administrator (5+Years Experience) - Immediate Joiner

We are looking for an intermediate Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Teradata database administration, performance tuning, and platform support in a 24×7 production environment. Exposure to AWS, basic Snowflake knowledge, and automation is expected. Experience supporting data workloads used in analytics or AI/ML environments will be an added advantage. Candidate should be ready to join immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Teradata database systems in a 24×7 production environment.

• Perform user setup, role-based access control, and ensure data security and compliance.

• Monitor system health, workloads, and performance using Teradata Viewpoint and TASM.

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, query bottlenecks, and system failures.

• Perform database maintenance activities including statistics collection, space management, and indexing strategies.

• Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing.

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using UNIX Shell and/or Python.

• Support ETL processes and manage jobs using Teradata utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, FastExport).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics and AI/ML teams to support data platform requirements.

• Participate in incident management, RCA, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–7 years of hands-on experience as a Teradata DBA / Administrator.

• Strong knowledge of Teradata architecture, utilities, and performance tuning.

• Experience with Teradata Viewpoint and workload management (TASM).

• Strong SQL skills (query optimisation, joins, and performance tuning).

• Hands-on experience with Teradata utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, FastExport).

• Experience in backup & recovery, DR setup, and system monitoring.

• Proficiency in UNIX Shell scripting and Python.

• Hands-on experience with AWS .

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Basic working knowledge of Snowflake (SQL, data loading, roles/warehouses).

• Exposure to data platforms supporting analytics or AI/ML workloads.

• Familiarity with cloud based data environments.

Work Requirements

• Willingness to work in 24×7 rotational shifts (including night shifts).

• Work from Office is mandatory (4+1)
