Job Description
Job Title: Senior Manager-Tendering & Estimation(Transmission Line)
Location: Ahmedabad(Gujarat)
Experience: 10 years+
Qualification: BE/Btech
Key Responsibilities:
Tendering & Bid Management
• Review, analyze, and interpret tender documents, technical specifications, commercial conditions, drawings, and contract requirements for transmission projects.
• Lead complete bid preparation activities from opportunity identification to final submission.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, clarification meetings, and customer interactions.
• Prepare bid strategy, compliance matrix, execution methodology, and bid submission schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, taxation, legal, planning, logistics, and project teams for bid preparation.
• Manage post-bid clarifications, negotiations, and pre-award discussions with clients.
Cost Estimation & Pricing
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for EPC projects covering engineering, procurement, transportation, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost sheets, resource plans, and project budgets.
• Analyze material costs, labor costs, logistics costs, subcontracting costs, and project overheads.
• Establish competitive pricing strategies while ensuring targeted margins and profitability.
• Perform benchmarking using historical project data and industry cost trends.
• Present estimation reports and cost proposals to senior management for approval.
Techno-Commercial Evaluation
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of vendor and subcontractor offers.
• Analyze technical deviations, commercial implications, project risks, and execution challenges.
• Prepare comparative statements and recommend optimum procurement strategies.
• Evaluate contract terms, payment conditions, guarantees, liquidated damages, taxation, and insurance requirements.
• Support contract finalization and commercial negotiations. Project Feasibility & Risk Assessment
• Perform project feasibility assessments, opportunity evaluations, and Go/No-Go analysis.
• Assess commercial, technical, financial, contractual, geopolitical, and execution risks.
• Develop mitigation plans for project-specific risks related to ROW, terrain, logistics, statutory approvals, and local regulations.
• Evaluate market conditions and country-specific business requirements. Business & Market Development
• Identify new markets, customers, and emerging opportunities in the power transmission sector.
• Prepare prequalification documents and support registration with utilities, transmission companies, and government organizations.
• Coordinate with consultants, partners, agents, and joint venture partners for projects.
• Track global transmission project opportunities and participate in strategic bidding initiatives.
Cost Engineering & Project Support
• Compare actual project costs against bid assumptions and identify lessons learned.
• Maintain databases for productivity norms, estimation benchmarks, vendor rates, and project costs.
• Support project execution teams in changing order management, variation claims, and cost optimization.
• Develop estimation standards, cost models, and best practices for continuous improvement.
