About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tender Estimation Expert (MEP) to join our Tendering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing tender documents, coordinating with vendors, and submitting techno-commercial bids for MEP projects including HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, and Utility Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, specifications, BOQs, drawings, and contractual requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, and Utility projects.
- Conduct detailed rate analysis covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Prepare comparative statements and evaluate vendor proposals.
- Compile and submit techno-commercial bids within specified timelines.
- Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Support commercial discussions, tender clarifications, and post-tender negotiations.
- Coordinate with project execution teams during project handover after award.
- Maintain estimation databases, cost records, and tender documentation for future reference.
- Monitor market trends, material costs, and industry benchmarks to improve estimation accuracy.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, and Utilities.
- Hands-on experience in tendering, estimation, costing, and BOQ preparation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for costing, rate analysis, and bid comparison.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of vendor management and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 3–4 years of experience in MEP estimation and tendering.
- Experience in commercial and industrial MEP projects.
- Familiarity with contract terms, commercial conditions, and tender procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
