Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Telematics Engineer with strong experience in automotive telematics systems, CAN-based communication, and test automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in CAN, CAPL scripting, and Python, and will be responsible for validation, debugging, and quality assurance of telematics ECUs and features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform system, integration, and functional testing of Telematics Control Units (TCU).
  • Validate telematics features such as remote diagnostics, vehicle connectivity, data transmission, alerts, OTA-related signals, E-Call / B- Call and network behavior.
  • Conduct CAN communication testing and analysis using Vector tools.
  • Develop and maintain CAPL scripts for:
  • Network simulation
  • Signal manipulation
  • Fault injection and diagnostics
  • Use Python scripting for:
  • Test automation
  • Log parsing and data analysis
  • Report generation
  • Analyze CAN logs and debug issues related to ECU communication, signal timing, and message integrity.
  • Execute regression testing for new software releases.
  • Support SIL / HIL / bench-level testing activities where applicable.
  • Work closely with development, system, and architecture teams to isolate and resolve defects.
  • Prepare test artifacts, including test cases, execution reports, and defect documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

  • 36 years of experience in Automotive Embedded / Telematics Testing.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAN protocol and automotive networks.
  • Hands-on expertise with Vector CANoe.
  • Strong proficiency in CAPL scripting.
  • Good working knowledge of Python for automation and analysis.
  • Experience in manual and automated test execution.
  • Good understanding of ECU architecture and communication behavior.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to UDS diagnostics and DTC validation.
  • Experience with LTE/4G/5G, GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth concepts (telematics context).
  • Knowledge of OTA update validation.
  • Exposure to AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive).
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier1 suppliers.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with test management tools (Jira, ALM, Polarion, DOORS).
