Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
FTTH Telecom Plan & Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and optimizing
end-to-end Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network plans. This role involves developing network diagrams, preparing design documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Knowledge of
permitting processes will be considered an added advantage.
The candidate should possess strong expertise in
GIS-based design tools,
fiber network architecture, and
outside plant (OSP) infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop FTTH network layouts, including feeder, distribution, and drop fiber segments.
- Prepare and maintain detailed network design documentation such as schematic diagrams, fiber allocation charts, and splicing plans.
- Utilize GIS, AutoCAD, or specialized fiber design tools (e.g., 3-GIS) for network design.
- Conduct route analysis and perform desktop surveys to determine optimal fiber paths and equipment placements.
- Collaborate closely with permitting and delivery teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
- Develop and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) for proposed network designs.
- Validate design accuracy using real survey data and update documentation accordingly.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Required Skills & Experience
- 28 years of experience in fiber network design and telecom infrastructure planning.
- Hands-on experience with GIS and AutoCAD tools.
- Good understanding of GPON network architecture and FTTH technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines effectively.
