We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the architecture, design, and development of scalable, high-performance software solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in software engineering, system design, cloud technologies, and distributed systems while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining technical strategy, solving complex engineering challenges, improving engineering practices, and ensuring the delivery of reliable and scalable products.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership :
- Provide technical direction and architectural guidance across multiple engineering teams.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software systems.
- Define engineering standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Drive technical decision-making and technology selection.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews to ensure quality and scalability.
- Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Software Development
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade applications.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.
- Lead the development of complex backend services, APIs, and microservices.
- Build highly scalable distributed systems capable of handling large volumes of traffic.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
System Architecture
- Design cloud-native applications and modern software architectures.
- Build resilient, fault-tolerant, and high-availability systems.
- Improve application scalability, observability, and maintainability.
- Design event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
- Optimize databases, caching strategies, and system performance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
Engineering Excellence
- Establish coding standards and development best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain high engineering quality.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes.
- Promote test-driven development and automated testing.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and performance standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, UX Designers, and Business Stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and architecture reviews.
- Provide technical guidance during product roadmap planning.
Mentorship
- Mentor and coach senior and mid-level software engineers.
- Help engineers improve coding standards, design thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Support hiring by conducting technical interviews and evaluating candidates.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in software engineering principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
- Extensive experience building distributed systems and scalable enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Java, .NET, Go, Python, or other modern programming languages.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and API design principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure
Service Bus.
- Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis and Memcached.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience implementing observability solutions including logging, monitoring, and tracing frameworks.
- Solid understanding of software security principles, authentication, authorization, and compliance
standards.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, Scrum, and modern software development practices.
