Company Description KDX Drafting Pty Ltd is a New South Wales–based company specializing in structural steel drafting services for a wide range of construction and engineering projects. Using Tekla 3D modeling, the team produces precise GA drawings, assembly and single-part drawings, and NC files with contour marking to support smooth and accurate fabrication. The company focuses on delivering quality documentation and efficient project support from initial design through to completion. Role Description The Tekla Modeler will work on-site in Mettur in a full-time capacity, creating detailed 3D models of structural steel components and assemblies using Tekla Structures. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering and architectural drawings, developing GA, assembly, and single-part drawings, and preparing NC files that align with fabrication and erection requirements. The role involves coordinating with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to resolve design issues, ensure accurate detailing, and maintain drafting standards and project timelines. The Tekla Modeler will also review and update models as designs evolve, perform quality checks on drawings, and support efficient project workflows from concept through to fabrication.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures for 3D modeling and detailing of structural steel components.
  • Experience producing GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings, and NC files for fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, site erection practices, and relevant industry codes.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and accuracy in documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in Mettur and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Diploma or degree in civil/structural engineering, drafting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with other CAD or BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD) is an advantage.
