Qural Talent Nexus is hiring on behalf of our client for a Senior Checker / Team Lead role, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (On-site).

Role Summary

The Senior Checker / Team Lead ensures the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of structural steel detailing projects while leading and mentoring the project team — combining technical checking expertise with project coordination and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead checking activities from drawing review through IFA and IFC deliverables
• Review and verify Tekla models, GA drawings, shop drawings, NC files, and project deliverables
• Ensure compliance with project specs, client requirements, and fabrication standards
• Identify and resolve detailing, constructability, coordination, and fabrication issues
• Review RFIs, technical queries, and design clarifications
• Plan, allocate, and monitor team workloads to meet project schedules
• Coordinate with PMs, clients, engineers, and fabricators
• Lead, mentor, and develop modelers, detailers, and junior checkers
• Drive quality improvement and reduction of rework

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–15+ years in structural steel detailing and checking
• Minimum 5 years as a Senior Checker / Team Lead or similar leadership role
• Minimum 5 years on Australian steel detailing projects
• Advanced knowledge of Australian Standards, fabrication practices, and erection methodologies
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures, model review, and QC processes
• Strong understanding of steel connections, fabrication workflows, and constructability
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
