Description

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Management Accountant, preferably with experience in the Software Technology sector, to join our fast-paced division. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about leveraging financial data to support innovation and growth. You will be involved across day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes under UK and US GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports, and KPIs relevant to SaaS and software operations, including capital expenditure on product development.
  • Preparation and posting of journals (e.g. payroll, accrued and deferred income, accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
  • Manage revenue recognition in line with software licensing and subscription models (e.g., IFRS 15).
  • Understand and support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for each entity.
  • Understand and support of customer billing, including liaison with the Commercial team over annual renewals.
  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Liaise with other Group entities to ensure Inter-Company accounts balance.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare weekly forecasts to support operational and investment planning.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT reporting to Group.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the division.
  • Collaborate with product and sales teams to align financial reporting with business performance.
  • Support with external audit process, to include but not limited to document preparation & submission, support on interim and final audit testing, liaising with auditors.
  • Assist with tax preparation providing documentation as requested by external advisors or Head of Tax.
  • Continuously improve financial systems and processes, including automation.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent), with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
  • Experience in the software or technology sector preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, deferred revenue, and cost capitalisation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks preferred) and strong Excel skills.
  • A hands-on, can-do approach
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
