Job description
The Tooling Technician/Tool Maker will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, repair, and fabrication of various tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages used by various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to understand tooling requirements.
- Fabricate or Assemble new tooling components according to specifications. Test and validate tooling as per requirement. Able to perform and execute precision assemblies.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on tooling to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair and modify existing tooling to meet changing production needs.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment according to company safety protocols.
- May assist Tool Designers in the development and testing of new tooling concepts (depending on experience).
Requirements
- Diploma in Tool Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or ITI Fitter
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Tooling Technician/Tool Maker or similar role.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
