Your Role
- Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Chemical Industry)
- Department: Maintenance / Operations
- Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Supervisor
- Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment (pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, instrumentation, electrical panels, PLC interfaces where applicable) per SOPs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults; execute timely repairs and coordinate with spare parts procurement as needed.
- Carry out alignments, lubrication, part replacements, and commissioning of modified or new equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance, record data in logbooks and CMMS, and participate in RCA/CAPA processes.
- Support energy efficiency and reliability initiatives; contribute to TPM and maintenance optimization efforts.
- Ensure a clean, safe work environment and adhere to 6S/5S practices.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO 9001/14001/45001, local regulations).
- Prepare and maintain shift handovers, work orders, and incident reports; participate in investigations as required.
- Assist with start-up, commissioning, and qualification activities for new or modified equipment.
- You are a Diploma holder in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years experience in maintenance within a chemical/processing plant.
- You have hands-on experience maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment in a medium-to-large plant.
- You can read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and have familiarity with control systems basics (SCADA/DCS/PLC).
- You understand preventive maintenance concepts, CMMS usage, and basic reliability principles.
- You have strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- You communicate effectively, work well in teams, and can operate across shifts.
- You are proactive in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years experience in a chemical/processing environment.
- Proficiency with SOPs, logbooks, and basic data recording.
- Familiarity with safety systems and regulatory requirements.
- TPM/RCI/RCA experience; RCA-based problem-solving skills.
- Certification in maintenance/industrial safety (e.g., electrical safety, mechanical upkeep).
- Experience with CMMS, predictive maintenance, energy/waste optimization initiatives.
- Exposure to automation, data logging, and basic analytics tools.
