HugoHub is looking for a Technical Writer to produce precise documentation that empowers developers, users, and regulators. As a technical writer at HugoHub, you will be producing user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, and in-platform documentation (tooltips, welcome instructions, etc. ). You will be a core part of the HugoHub team, working closely with various stakeholders across HugoHub, such as engineering, product/program management, product marketing, compliance, design, etc. HugoHub seeks a junior technical writer to create accurate and enabling documentation for developers, end-users, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining a variety of content, including user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, and in-platform materials (such as tooltips and welcome instructions).
- You will function as a vital member of the HugoHub team, collaborating closely with diverse internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Product/Program Management, Product Marketing, Compliance, Design, and Customer Success.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience.
- Essential requirements include a strong foundation in programming/scripting, writing, research, and editing.
- Candidates must also possess a solid technical understanding and knowledge and be well versed with documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational skills are necessary for logical content structuring, and adaptability is key for success in agile environments.
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation.
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation, paying attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
- Excellent written skills in English.
- Strong programming knowledge in Python/Java/Javascript.
- Well versed with OpenAPI standards, Markdown, DITA, and MS Office.
- Strong working knowledge of any technical writing platform.
- Ability to adopt AI to expedite technical documentation is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development.
- A university degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as technical communication, English, or computer science.
- Preference is given to applicants with 1-3 years of experience, ideally in software or product documentation.
- Submitting a portfolio that demonstrates clear technical writing samples is highly recommended and strengthens the application.
