How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
- Responsible for overall development, authoring, and management of aircraft technical instructions utilized on Delta's fleet of aircraft and/or engines.
- Must ensure compliance to FAA Regulations, Engineering documentation, and other substantiating data as outlined in the Technical Operation Policies & Procedures (TOPP).
- Must work closely with numerous departments including Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Production Control, Supplier Operations and others to ensure all aircraft manual content meets FAA, ATA, and Delta standards.
- Must ensure safety conscious behaviors are incorporated into all procedures.
- Position requires a thorough knowledge of commercial aviation documentation and guidance specifications (i.e. ATA 100, iSpec2200, S1000D, and etc).
Role Summary
The Technical Writer will be responsible for the following support of Delta's Technical Operations division.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineering license (or applicable degree) with direct experience as a Technical Writer.
- 3+ years of experience required.
- Must have previous aircraft maintenance experience with thorough knowledge and understanding of aircraft manuals (Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Engine Maintenance Manual (EMM), etc. used for inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of aircraft and engines.
- Should be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to handle several projects simultaneously with minimum supervision, must be well-organized, and able to prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
- Must have very strong computer skills with knowledge and experience in structured authoring preferred (SGML, S1000D, XML, and etc).
- Must embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles.

- Experience in MS Office products, Epic Editor, CORENA Studio, MS Office products and Adobe Professional highly preferred.
