Technical Writer

About the Role:

As a Technical Writer at CleverTap, you will collaborate with the product writing team to update technical documentation, including user and developer documentation. Our fast-growing B2B SaaS company is currently seeking a professional Technical Writer to join our expanding team.

We want someone who doesn't just write, they innovate. You experiment with AI tools, automate repetitive tasks, stay current with tech writing trends, and contribute to the community. You're as comfortable writing SDK docs and reading code as you are crafting UX microcopy or recording video tutorials.

What You'll Do:

1. Technical Documentation

• Write and maintain SDK integration guides, API docs, changelogs, and release notes for multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Web, Unity, Flutter, React Native)
• Create user guides for marketers and business users
• Develop partner integration documentation at scale
• Review code samples and collaborate with engineering teams

2. UX Copy for New Features

• Write copy: tooltips, onboarding flows, CTAs, empty states, microcopy
• Collaborate with product/design teams to ensure copy clarity

3. Video Content Creation

• Create multimedia storyboards and product walkthrough content
• Create screen recordings with voiceovers using Trainn, Camtasia, or Loom
• Optimize videos for different audiences (developers vs. marketers)

Plus: Innovation & Automation

• Drive AI-driven documentation initiatives (chatbot training, LLM experimentation)
• Help with building automation workflows to eliminate repetitive tasks
• Own improvement projects (broken link detection, feedback loops, analytics)

What are we looking for

Must have:

• 2-6 years technical writing experience, at least 2 years in B2B SaaS
• Proven SDK/API documentation portfolio with code samples required
• UX writing experience - tooltips, onboarding flows, product microcopy
• Video creation experience - tutorials, demos, screen recordings
• Programming proficiency - Understand samples in Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, or React Native
• Dual-audience capability - write for developers AND non-technical users
• Git/GitHub, Markdown, JIRA, Agile workflows
• Curiosity about AI/automation - show us what you've experimented with
• Stay Current - follow tech writing blogs, communities, conferences

Good to have:

• Markdown Authoring
• Marketing automation or customer engagement platform experience
• Hands-on coding experience with HTML, Java, Python etc.
• Active in tech writing communities
• Published articles, blog posts, conference talks, or open-source contributions
• AI tool experience (GPT-4, Claude, Cursor, AI writing assistants)
• Built automation workflows (Python scripts, GitHub Actions)
• ReadMe.io, GitBook, or similar modern doc platforms
• Advanced video editing, motion graphics, and design skills
• Experience in previous companies with cloud platforms, databases, OpenAPI/Swagger
