JOB DESCRIPTION – Technical Author/Writer
- Experience of working on various aircraft manuals and component maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with aircraft system knowledge and having IFE system knowledge is an added advantage.
- Conversant with ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D standards and and Simplified Technical English
- Authoring Tools: Any XML editors including Arbortext Editor; Adobe Framemaker+SGML. Working knowledge of CSDB.
- Familiarity with XML, SGML, and resolving XML parsing errors
- Working knowledge on PLM tools like Teamcenter and Enovia.
- Good oral and writing skills, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Creation/Revision of Component Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalogue (AIPC), Wiring Diagram Manual, Fault Isolation Manual, etc.,
- Perform extensive impact/input analysis. Organize source/input material and perform authoring tasks according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and/or terminology.
- Assists in peer review of the manuals ensuring error free manuals.
- Authoring, editing, and formatting technical documentation to a high standard of grammar, clarity, consistency, and style. Performing editorial reviews to ensure accuracy, consistent terminology, and compliance with editorial, formatting, and corporate style standards
