About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Team Lead to lead the design and delivery of a modern analytics and valuation platform used in Private Equity and financial valuations.
This is a key leadership role combining hands-on engineering, people leadership, and financial domain expertise. You will work closely with product teams, valuation professionals, and business stakeholders to build scalable, dataintensive solutions supporting complex ownership structures, valuation models, and investment analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead a cross-functional engineering team (backend, frontend, data)
- Own system architecture and technical design decisions
- Define and enforce engineering standards (code quality, performance, security, scalability)
- Mentor engineers and conduct technical and code reviews
- Drive best practices in CI/CD, testing, observability, and reliability
Hands-On Development
- Design and implement backend services using Java and Python
- Design and optimize Graph Database models for complex ownership, fund, and valuation relationships
- Ensure high-performance querying and analytics over interconnected financial data
- Collaborate on API design (REST / GraphQL)
Domain & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Private Equity and Valuation experts, Business Analysts, and SMEs
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Participate in data modeling for:
- Ownership structures
- Financial instruments
- Valuation methodologies
- Ensure data accuracy, transparency, auditability, and traceability
Mandatory Skills
Technical
- 10+ years of hands-on Java development
- 4+ years in a Technical Team Lead / Engineering Lead role
- 4+ years of hands-on Python development
- Strong expertise in Graph Databases (Cypher, Gremlin, graph modeling, traversal algorithms)
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns
- Experience working with AWS cloud environments
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes
- Proven people management experience
Leadership
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
- Balance hands-on development with leadership responsibilities
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Business / Domain
- Experience in Private Equity, Asset Management, Valuations, or Financial Analytics
- Knowledge of financial modeling / valuation concepts (DCF, multiples, NAV)
Nice to Have
- Experience with data-intensive or real-time processing systems
- Background in analytics or data visualization platforms
- Exposure to regulatory or audit-focused systems
