Job Title: Windchill Test Analyst
Experience 5 + years in Windchill PLM testing or similar QA roles.
Role Overview
The Windchill Test Analyst is responsible for testing and validating PTC Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with business requirements. This role involves creating test plans, executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain system quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Design
Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts for Windchill modules (e.g., PDMLink, Project Link, Change Management).
Define testing scope for upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.
Test Execution
Perform functional, regression, integration, and Upgrade and Migration testing on Windchill PLM systems.
Execute manual test cases, document results and report defects.
Defect Management
Identify, log, and track defects using appropriate tools.
Work closely with developers and system administrators to resolve issues.
Collaboration
Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to validate PLM workflows.
Participate in requirements gathering and provide input on testability.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare test reports, metrics, and dashboards for stakeholders.
Maintain test artifacts in compliance with QA standards.
Continuous Improvement
Suggest process improvements and contribute to test automation initiatives.
Stay updated on Windchill versions ( 12.x, 13.x) and related technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM (PDMLink, Project Link, Quality Management, Change Management).
Knowledge of PLM concepts: CAD data, BOM, workflows, and product structures.
Familiarity with SQL, test automation tools, and scripting.
Testing Skills
Strong understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and QA methodologies.
Experience in Upgrade and Migration Testing
Experience in manual and automated testing.
Soft Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Team bonding and positive attitude
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years experience in Windchill PLM testing or similar QA roles.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to ThingWorx, PartsLink, or Supplier Management modules.
Experience with Agile methodologies and test management tools (e.g., Azure ADO, JIRA, ALM).
Knowledge of automation frameworks for PLM systems.
