Spinnaker Support has an immediate opening for a Postgres SDM, based in either South Africa or India, with strong skills in Customer Ownership and Postgres Solution Architecting.
Responsibilities
- This position is for a technical Service Delivery Manager.
- Must have excellent customer Ownership and communication, friendly interaction, and a passion to help customers with their software issues.
- Provide technical expertise required by Postgres support team.
- Troubleshoot customer under break-fix support : Performance tuning, backup strategy, migration optimizations and DBA activities.
- Drive customer satisfaction by tracking issues from start to closure.
- Monthly Customer Review engagements to foster stronger technical relations.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of PostgreSQL DBA experience in a 24x7 production environment
- 1+ Year of Customer Ownership
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience architecting a large-scale production Oracle to Postgres migrations
- Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies
- Familiarity with system level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities
- Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments
- Great communication skills and a passion for both teaching and learning
