Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist - Design and Manufacturing to support business growth across the region. Based in Bengaluru, India, this customer-facing pre-sales role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who can lead discovery sessions, deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations, and help advance sales opportunities through technical closure.
In this role, you will work with customers across industries, including industrial machinery, automotive, consumer products, fabrication, and advanced manufacturing. You will identify customer challenges, uncover untapped business opportunities, and align Autodesk Design and Manufacturing solutions with customer requirements and desired business outcomes.
You will collaborate closely with Sales teams, Channel Partners, and internal stakeholders to support territory growth through strong technical engagement, consultative selling, and solution-based strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact customer discovery sessions to understand business priorities, workflows, pain points, and transformation objectives
- Engage customers through joint and independent interactions, both onsite and remotely, to drive meaningful technical discussions
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders by aligning technology solutions with their business goals and operational challenges
- Deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution workshops tailored to customer-specific use cases
- Translate discovery insights into compelling business cases that clearly articulate value, outcomes, and Return on Investment (ROI)
- Partner closely with Sales teams to shape deal strategies, strengthen opportunity qualification, and accelerate sales progression
- Drive technical evaluations, solution validation, and proofs of concept to ensure alignment with customer requirements
- Drive technical wins by presenting clear value propositions and using effective storytelling to influence stakeholder decision-making
- Apply deep expertise in Design and Manufacturing processes, industry trends, and emerging technologies to position Autodesk as a strategic, long-term partner
- Identify and develop untapped opportunities within customer accounts to drive expansion, cross-selling, and broader platform adoption
- Establish credibility with technical stakeholders, including Engineering and Manufacturing teams, as well as business stakeholders across Operations and Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Channel Partners to deliver seamless customer experiences and drive business growth
- Develop high-quality customer-facing materials, including solution narratives, demonstration strategies, and workshop deliverables
- Represent Autodesk as a trusted technical advisor in customer engagements, partner ecosystems, and industry forums
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales or Technical Sales role
- 5+ years of experience working in or supporting the Design and Manufacturing industry
- Familiarity with Autodesk solutions such as Inventor, Fusion, Vault, or Fusion Manage
- Knowledge of comparable technology solutions from other Software as a Service (SaaS) or technology providers, such as Siemens, Dassault Systèmes, or PTC
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution workshops to enterprise customers
- Experience supporting complex technical sales cycles, including discovery, solution validation, and proofs of concept
- Strong understanding of Design and Manufacturing workflows, industry challenges, and digital transformation initiatives
- Experience developing business cases and articulating measurable customer value and Return on Investment (ROI)
- Experience collaborating with Sales teams, Channel Partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive business growth
- Familiarity with consultative selling methodologies and customer engagement strategies
