Job Description

About the Role

Devson is seeking a technically qualified and commercially driven professional to expand our business in the nutraceutical, functional food, and specialty ingredient sectors.

This is primarily a customer-facing business development role involving identification of new opportunities, development of customer relationships, and promotion of innovative ingredient solutions to manufacturers across India.

The successful candidate will work closely with R&D, production, procurement, and management teams at customer organizations while supporting commercial growth through technical understanding and application knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new customers across nutraceutical, food, and allied industries.
  • Map target accounts and build relationships with key decision makers.
  • Conduct customer visits across India.
  • Understand customer products, manufacturing processes, and technical requirements.
  • Work with customer R&D and production teams to support product development and manufacturing activities.
  • Conduct plant trials and provide application support where required.
  • Coordinate with international principals and technical teams.
  • Manage existing customer relationships and develop new business opportunities.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
  • Drive sales growth and achieve business targets.

Preferred Experience

  • 2–6 years of experience in food ingredients, nutraceuticals, specialty ingredients, food additives, or related B2B industries.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical sales, business development, key account management, or application sales roles.
  • Exposure to food, nutraceutical, confectionery, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries is desirable.

Candidate Profile

  • B.Tech/M.Tech Food Technology, Food Engineering, or M.Sc. Food Science.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial mindset with an interest in sales and business development.
  • Comfortable interacting with customers at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently.
