Technical Sales Engineer - Foundry and Steel

About the role

At Suyash, we develop and manufacture measurement and process-control products used in the foundries and steel plants

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer who can build and develop business with steel plants and foundries across India. This is a customer-facing role with significant travel and requires someone who is comfortable developing new customers, building relationships at plant level and taking opportunities through to orders.

You should be able to walk into a foundry or steel plant, understand who the relevant people are, what problems they are facing, start a conversation, identify an opportunity, arrange a trial and keep following up until the business is won.

Please note that this role is requires extensive travel to various customer sites across India.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new customers at foundries and steel plants
• Visit steel plants and foundries regularly, build relationships with the people who actually use and handle our products.
• Understand the customer's process and problems and identify where our products can help
• Coordinate product trials and demonstrations, follow up with customers and convert successful trials into regular orders
• Build relationships with people in purchase, production, metallurgy, quality and plant management
• Keep track of sales opportunities and follow up consistently
• Grow existing accounts and look for opportunities to introduce other Suyash products
• Travel extensively across India as required

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in industrial sales, preferably selling to steel plants, foundries or related industries
• Strong ability to to develop new customers rather than relying only on existing accounts
• Good technical understanding and the ability to have meaningful conversations with plant and technical personnel
• Strong follow-up and negotiation skills
• This is not a desk-based sales role. Willingness to travel extensively across India required
• Engineering or technical qualification is preferred, but relevant industry experience will be given significant weight
