About the Role
We are a US-based group of companies operating across multiple industries, building a portfolio of custom software products to power our businesses. Our active builds include AI-driven applications, internal operations platforms, customer-facing tools, and marketing automation systems.
We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to lead our small offshore development team day-to-day. The founder owns the product vision and priorities. Your job is to take that vision and turn it into shipped software by running the dev team efficiently, writing clear technical requirements, and removing blockers so engineers can focus on building.
This is a hands-on execution role for someone with a developer background who has moved into managing technical teams. If you enjoy running sprints, writing crisp tickets, holding the team to a quality bar, and shipping on time, this is for you.
What You Will Own
• Sprint and delivery management. Run daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and releases. Keep the team focused, unblocked, and shipping.
• Technical requirements. Translate the founder's product priorities into clear engineering tickets, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Eliminate ambiguity before code is written.
• Team performance. Track velocity, defect rates, and cycle times. Identify what is slowing the team down and fix it. Get more output per developer through better processes and clearer specs.
• Quality and releases. Own the release process. Make sure code is reviewed, tested, and meets the quality bar before it ships. Track and reduce post-release defects.
• Stakeholder updates. Run a weekly sync with the founder. Provide honest status updates on progress, risks, and slippage. Translate technical decisions into plain business language.
• Technical evaluation. Help evaluate third-party APIs, libraries, vendors, and tools. Push back on engineering proposals when needed. Know enough to ask the right questions.
• Documentation and process. Maintain clean documentation in Jira / Linear / Notion. Set up a lean process — enough to keep things organized, not so much that it slows the team.
Required Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in software development, with at least 1–2 years in a project management, scrum master, tech lead, or team lead role. Prior hands-on coding experience is required.
• Strong technical foundation. Engineering or computer science degree (or equivalent self-taught experience). You can read code, review pull requests, understand system architecture, and have credible technical conversations with senior engineers.
• Hands-on team coordination. You have run sprints for a team of 3–6 developers, including standups, planning, prioritization, and unblocking. You know how to write a clean Jira ticket and a useful retro.
• Delivery track record. You have shipped real production software, not just internal demos. You can point to specific projects, your role, and what you delivered.
• Excellent written and spoken English. You will write tickets and specs read by US stakeholders, and run live calls with the founder weekly. Clarity is non-negotiable.
• Modern PM tooling fluency. Strong working knowledge of Jira, Linear, Notion, GitHub Projects, or equivalent. Familiarity with Git, basic CI/CD concepts, and modern web/mobile stacks.
• Self-managed remote work. Reliable home office setup, strong internet, and the discipline to operate independently across time zones.
Bonus Points For
• Hands-on coding ability, you can prototype with SQL, Python, JavaScript, or build internal tools yourself when it speeds things up.
• Experience with AI / LLM-powered products (prompt engineering, API integrations, or evaluation workflows).
• Experience working with a US-based founder or US clients while based in India.
• Familiarity with common SaaS building blocks: SendGrid, Twilio, Stripe, Supabase, AWS, and common API patterns.
• Exposure to internal tools, CRM systems, or workflow automation platforms.
• Scrum or PMP certification (helpful but not required — we care more about what you have shipped).
How We Work
• Fully remote. You can work from anywhere in India, but you must overlap at least 4 hours per day with US Central Time (typically a late-afternoon to evening shift in India).
• Small team, big ownership. You report directly to the founder. Your work directly impacts what ships.
• Multiple products, clear priorities. We run a portfolio. The founder sets priorities; you sequence the execution.
• Lean process. Crisp tickets, short syncs, fast decisions. We do not run processes for the sake of process.
Compensation
₹12 LPA fixed, with performance bonuses tied to delivery milestones. Long-term growth opportunities for strong performers as the product portfolio expands.
How to Apply
Send the following to [Confidential Information]
• A short cover note (3-5 sentences) on the last project you delivered, the team size, and what you specifically owned.
• Your resume or LinkedIn.
• One concrete example of a process or team improvement you drove, ideally with a measurable outcome (faster shipping, fewer bugs, higher velocity).
• Optional: a sample Jira ticket, user story, or technical spec you wrote (redacted is fine).
We read every application personally. Generic AI-written cover letters with no thought behind them will not move forward.
