Job Description: Technical Program Manager

Experience : 6-8 Years

Notice Period: Immediate - 30 Days

Role Summary

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) – Smart Networks to lead and drive end‑to‑end delivery of complex, cross‑functional technology programs across Smart Networks, IoT, and digital infrastructure initiatives.

This role is accountable for predictable, high‑quality technical delivery across multiple engineering teams working on networked devices, edge systems, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and enterprise integrations. The TPM acts as the single-threaded owner of program execution, ensuring alignment between architecture, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth, program management rigor, and stakeholder leadership, with the ability to guide teams through scale, complexity, and ambiguity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in technology delivery, with 4+ years in Program / Technical Program Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience delivering IoT, Telecom, Energy, Mobility, or Platform‑led systems
  • Proficiency in .Net programming languages (C#, .Net Framework, .Net Core), Full stack development exposure is good to have and tools related to that.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure services and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and/or cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications:
  • PgMP / PMP
  • SAFe Agilist, Scrum, or Agile certifications
  • Cloud certifications (Azure / AWS)

Key Responsibilities

Program & Delivery Ownership

  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of Smart Networks programs from initiation through production rollout
  • Define program scope, milestones, delivery plans, and success metrics
  • Ensure delivery commitments are met across time, quality, cost, and scope
  • Drive predictable execution across multiple parallel workstreams

Technical & Architectural Alignment

  • Partner with Architects and Engineering Leads to:
  • Align on system architecture, APIs, integrations, and non‑functional requirements
  • Facilitate design and architecture reviews
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks early
  • Ensure technical decisions support scalability, resiliency, security, and operational readiness

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate across:
  • Hardware, firmware, and device teams
  • Network & edge computing teams
  • Cloud, platform, and backend engineering
  • Mobile / web applications
  • QA, DevOps, SRE, and Operations
  • Manage complex interdependencies across teams and vendors

Agile Execution & Release Management

  • Lead sprint planning, release planning, and dependency management across teams
  • Ensure alignment between product roadmap and engineering execution
  • Track progress using Agile and hybrid delivery models (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban)
  • Ensure clear Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD)

Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management

  • Proactively identify delivery, technical, and operational risks
  • Own issue management, resolution tracking, and escalation
  • Maintain RAID logs and ensure timely leadership communication
  • Drive data‑backed decisions and trade‑offs when constraints arise

Stakeholder Communication & Governance

  • Serve as the primary delivery interface for:
  • Engineering leadership
  • Product management
  • Operations and business stakeholders
  • Senior leadership and executives
  • Provide regular, structured program updates on:
  • Status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
  • Delivery health, KPIs, and outcomes
  • Lead program reviews, steering discussions, and executive readouts

Vendor & Partner Management (if applicable)

  • Manage system integrators, device vendors, and third‑party partners
  • Ensure clear scope, milestones, accountability, and SLAs
  • Drive integration readiness and joint delivery plans

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of IoT ecosystems
  • Knowledge of:
  • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
  • APIs, event‑driven systems, and data pipelines
  • Security, reliability, and observability considerations
  • Networked devices, edge computing, and device lifecycle management
  • Ability to engage deeply with architects and engineering teams without being hands‑on coding focused

Program & Delivery Skills

  • Proven experience managing large, multi‑team technical programs
  • Strong command of delivery tools:
  • Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence (or equivalent)
  • Metrics‑driven mindset:
  • Milestones, burn‑down, velocity, defect trends, delivery predictability
  • Experience operating in scale, ambiguity, and fast‑evolving technical environments

Stakeholder & Leadership Capabilities

  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership and executives
  • Structured problem‑solving and decision‑making approach
  • Calm, confident leadership during escalations and delivery pressure
