About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong foundation in IT automation, infrastructure, and security. This role is ideal for someone who started their career in a technical track (DevOps, Infra, or Security) and later moved into project/delivery management. The TPM will manage complex client-facing projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery while maintaining compliance and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IT automation and security projects.
- Create project plans, track milestones, and provide regular client and internal reporting.
- Technical Understanding & Oversight
- Review architecture diagrams, logs, and error reports to anticipate issues early.
- Validate technical estimates and ensure realistic timelines with engineering teams.
- Translate client requirements into actionable technical tasks without overloading engineers.
- Client Engagement
- Serve as the single point of contact for clients.
- Explain technical impacts (e.g., infra compatibility, compliance risks) in business-friendly language.
- Manage scope, customizations, and change requests effectively.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Align development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for integrated delivery.
- Balance workloads across frontend, backend, infra, and security tracks.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.).
- Track security and compliance requirements, including privileged access and audit trails.
- Process & Risk Management
- Define delivery governance: SLA tracking, dashboards, bug trend analysis.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1012 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in project/program management.
- Prior hands-on background in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Security (not necessarily current coding, but strong technical grounding).
- Proven success managing projects with multi-technology stacks (Frontend, Backend, Infra, Security).
- Strong understanding of automation frameworks, privileged access/security concepts, and workflow orchestration.
- Experience in client-facing delivery roles, handling escalations and requirement translation.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum practices and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in large-scale IT operations automation or compliance-driven environments.
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or SAFe.
- Exposure to AI/automation-driven platforms.
