Role Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong hands-on exposure to Databricks and Data Engineering projects to manage end-to-end delivery in a client-facing environment. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technical teams, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of complex data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of data engineering and analytics projects from planning to closure
- Drive project execution using Agile / Scrum methodologies
- Manage Databricks-based data engineering solutions across cloud platforms
- Coordinate with data engineers, architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables
- Track and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests
- Ensure adherence to delivery governance, quality standards, and best practices
- Conduct client interactions, status reviews, and steering committee meetings
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and dashboards
- Ensure successful delivery of ETL pipelines, data ingestion, transformation, and analytics solutions
- Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and team performance
- Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and cloud best practices
Technical Skills Required
- Strong experience managing Data Engineering / Analytics projects
- Hands-on exposure to :
- Databricks
- Apache Spark
- Big Data ecosystems
- Experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing
- Cloud platforms :
- AWS / Azure / GCP (at least one)
- Understanding of :
- Data lakes, lakehouse architecture
- Batch and streaming data processing
- Familiarity with DevOps / CI-CD pipelines is a plus
Project & Delivery Skills
- Proven experience in Agile / Scrum project management
- Strong knowledge of :
- Sprint planning
- Backlog grooming
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint reviews & retrospectives
- Experience with project management tools such as :
- Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar
- Excellent risk management, dependency tracking, and issue resolution skills
Stakeholder & Leadership Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in parallel
Good To Have
- Background in data platforms or big data technologies
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, or MLOps
- Experience working with global or enterprise clients
- Prior experience in consulting or system integration environments
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- PMP / Scrum Master / Agile certifications are an added advantage
