Technical Project Manager - Data Engineering & Analytics

What is the role about

Technical Project Manager - Data Engineering & Analytics will be responsible for driving multiple data and analytics client projects and implementations while acting as the controlling authority for assigned initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing solid technical and functional understanding of data platforms/offerings, project planning & execution, tracking & monitoring, reporting, communication to internal and client stakeholders, project closure, and client satisfaction.

What you will do

As a TPM, you will be responsible for the following:

- Develop a good technical and functional understanding of assigned data engineering and analytics projects

- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for all assigned projects

- Lead project teams to ensure that project objectives are met and deliverables are completed on time and under budget

- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting of assigned projects and ensuring successful project completion

- Metrics-driven project management Define and publish project metrics periodically and take corrective actions as necessary

- Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to provide data project updates and address data-specific concerns

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful project integration and alignment with organizational goals

- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure successful project integration and alignment with organizational goals

- Manage data project funding/invoicing in a timely and accurate manner

- Any other activities assigned by the management team

What you will need to have

Software Services Industry Experience: Minimum of 6+ years in software development and services

Relevant Experience:

o Minimum of 5+ years of Technical Project Management

o Prior experience of managing and delivering Data and BI projects

o Prior software development experience in any stream

o Prior experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)

o Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies in data projects is a plus

Skills & Competencies:

o Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and under budget

o Proven experience in metrics-driven project management

o Strong understanding of data engineering terminology (ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data modeling, data governance)

o Familiarity with analytics and BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.)

o Team player with Strong leadership and conflict management skills

o Excellent written and oral English communication skills

o Ability to work with multiple internal C client stakeholders, manage priorities and negotiate effectively

o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

o Strong problem-solving skills with ability to understand technical constraints and trade-off

Other Requirements

Education: Graduate with a technical degree

Must be willing to work full-time out of the client Bangalore office for the first 3 months - if any other location is chosen as primary work location

PMP certification is desirable
