Technical Program Manager

Cross Border expansions team is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to work on our Cross Border technology stacks, which enables to launch new Cross Border arc with local language, local currency, local payments and build new features and enhancements. The Cross Border strategy, and roadmap is one of the most important initiatives across Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments. Hire, manage, and develop the team, including hiring, retention, performance management, mentoring and capability/skill development. Act as point of contact for communications dealing with project deliverables, setting the expectation, managing priorities, dependencies, human factors and management issues. Establish high bar for processes and standards in the execution of all projects. You will serve as the primary escalation point for both the local and remote leadership teams and product/tech stakeholders related to the projects driven by the team.

  • Facilitate collaboration to solve complex problems through data, rapidly.
  • Enable success for the goals by managing the team of engineers by equipping them to solve complex and ambiguous problems.
  • Own the inputs and the business outcome through cultivating a culture of relentless auditing and metric monitoring, automatically where possible.

About The Team

This is a contractual position which is ideal for candidates who are looking to deal with scaling challenges at Amazon and ready to build mission critical system software applications and tools. It is also an opportunity for freelance candidates to become domain experts and have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture and development of consumer products. Depending on individual performance this experience can lead to permanent positions at Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 2+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
