The Technical Program Manager (TPM) partners directly with founders to ensure engineering commitments turn into reliable delivery. This person creates clarity, drives follow-through, manages dependencies, and removes execution friction without becoming a bottleneck. This is a high-trust, high-expectation role with direct visibility into company priorities.

What Youll Do

  • Founder & Leadership Partnership
  • Work closely with founders on execution planning and priority setting
  • Translate high-level goals and customer commitments into concrete, trackable programs
  • Provide clear, concise execution updates to leadership highlighting risks, tradeoffs, and decisions needed
  • Engineering Program Ownership
  • Own delivery of cross-team engineering initiatives end-to-end
  • Track milestones, timelines, and outcomes across multiple workstreams
  • Proactively manage dependencies between teams, systems, and people
  • Surface risks early and drive resolution to keep programs on track
  • Commitment & Delivery Management
  • Act as the single source of truth for engineering commitments
  • Ensure commitments made to customers, product, or internal teams are clearly scoped and tracked
  • Hold teams accountable to timelines while maintaining trust and momentum
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Partner effectively with engineering, product, customer success, sales, and leadership
  • Align stakeholders with different incentives and timelines
  • Drive decisions through structured discussions and crisp communication
  • Execution Metrics & Rigor
  • Maintain dependency maps, delivery dashboards, and execution metrics
  • Continuously improve how Portkey plans, commits, and ships
  • Balance speed with reliability - optimizing for outcomes, not process

What Were Looking For


  • Experience
  • 3 5 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Program Manager, or similar role
  • Proven experience working closely with software engineering teams
  • Experience owning delivery of complex, cross-functional technical programs
  • Skills & Traits
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication clear, structured, and persuasive
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; able to influence without authority
  • Highly execution-oriented: you care deeply about things getting done
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-changing environments
  • Strong technical intuition (you dont need to code, but you understand systems and tradeoffs)
